Hollywood’s most bankable superstar Will Smith has teamed up again with Francis Lawrence, the director of his last hit film ‘I Am Legend’ (2008). According to reports Will Smith and Francis Lawrence are working together on ‘The City That Sailed’ a fantastical drama titled being produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Will Smith's Overbrook Production Company will be co-producing the film. But the film is definitely not a prequel to ‘I Am Legend’.

‘The City That Sailed’ has been written by Andrew Niccol, who has written scripts for films like ‘Gattaca’and ‘The Truman Show’. ‘The City That Sailed’ follows a New York City street magician whose daughter, because of family circumstances lives in England. While exploring a lighthouse a day, the girl discovers a room with magic candles and wishes to be reunited with her father, causing the island of Manhattan to break away and drift across the ocean.

Meanwhile Francis Lawrence is also directing ‘Water for Elephants’ as well as ‘The World Without Us’ for 20th Century Fox. According to reports Francis Lawrence was working on the project since 20th Century Fox picked up the script way back in 2006. Although no deals has been signed but Francis Lawrence and Will Smith will definitely work together in ‘The City That Sailed’. Reportedly Will Smith will be seen in the movie as the magician father. Meanwhile Will Smith who’s last film ‘Seven Pounds’ was a flop will start work on the sequel to the movie.
