Plot:
The film is a remake of a Kollywood super hit ‘Nadodigal’, which is about 3 friends Karunakar (Raviteja), Chandu (Siva Balaji) and Malli (Allari Naresh) and their about friendship, responsibility, sacrifice and love. The friends who can die for each other’s friendship, get separate ways to achieve their goals. When they discover the lovebirds they helped get married are now on the verge of divorce and getting married elsewhere, how they come back together and manage to set things right is the story all about.
Overall synopsis:
The film set in Rajamundry, where Ravi Teja wants a government job to marry his maternal uncles (Tanikella Bharani) daughter Manemma (Priyamani). Allari Naresh puts efforts to get a passport and go abroad, while Chandu being a little more educated tries his hand at own software company with bank loan, and is in love with Ravi Teja’s sister. However when Ravi Teja’s friend who is the son of a former MP (Roja) and comes to them and says that he wants to marry the daughter of a factionist and minister from Kurnool (Mukesh Rishi), who is a sworn enemy of her mother, the trio come together to get the love birds married despite facing trouble with help of another friend (Rao Ramesh). However doing this they suffer a lot, Siva Balaji loses his right leg and with it marrying Ravi Teja’s sister, while Allari Naresh becomes deaf while fighting the followers of Mukesh Rishi. Ravi Teja with the police case against him then loses all hope of marrying Priyamani as he cant get a government job.
Performances:
Siva Balaji, Ravi Teja and Allari Naresh have teamed up for the first time in this multi-starrer movie. Ravi Teja appears in a new avatar sometimes loud character in the film, different from his routine action and comedy. Allari Naresh has given a impressive performance as a person who loses his sense of hearing. Siva Balaji is good as usual, though he gets overshadowed repeatedly by Ravi Teja and Allari Naresh. Among actresses Priyamani appears chirpy and chivalrous at first and completely deglamourized later has carried her role with ease, Roja makes a comeback after a long time and does justice to her role. Newcomer Abhinaya is beautiful and impressive in her brief role. Mukesh Rushi is as usual okay in villainous role, while Chandramohan, Ahuthi Prasad, and Sunil was loud but managed to make viewers smile. Ahuti Prasad is average, Tanikella Bharani is neat, while Sudha Rani was apt.
Technical Values:
In a film full of flaws cinematographer PG Muthaiah should be commended for making a visually perfect film. The music of Sambho, Siva, Sambho by Sundar C Babu could have been much better and help the movie. However, few good sequences stand out for their technical values. The background music is catchy racy and couple of songs are worth humming. Overall, though the film suffers being partly slow paced and partly fast. Though story is good and the screenplay interesting the dialogues (though dialogues by Surya are great) or narration are not up to mark, with only saving grace is the comedy track. The film turns interesting late in second half, but it cant sustain it’s the tempo. Despite the flaws Sambho Siva Sambho has tried to show things in a different way that will appeal to family audience for its experimentation.
Conclusion:
Sambo Siva Sambho despite being is a action packed comedy entertainer from start to finish cant be expected to do much at the box office. It may appeal to family audience for its experimentation, releasing in festive season of ‘Sankranti’ can work in its favor despite being paired opposite biggies like ‘Namo Venkatesh’ and ‘Adurs’. Bellamkonda Suresh reportedly paid a fancy rate for the remake rights, lets hope does not lose his money.
