Bipasha Basu Deglamorised in ‘Shob Charitro Kalponik’

Bollywood’s Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu known for her stunning physique and smoky eyes, and actor-model boyfriend John Abraham, has garnered rave reviews for her performance in her first bengali film. The film titled ‘Shob Charitro Kalponik’ ("All Characters are Imaginary"), has been directed by National Award winning director Rituporno Ghosh, is the story of a woman played by Bipasha Basu, who becomes the wife of a poet (played by Bengali superstar Prosenjit Roy) only to find that imaginary world he creates are more real to him than his actual life.
Bipasha Basu has reportedly given performance in Shob Charitro Kalponik’ which is comparable to that Shabana Azmi, an actress who is known to give powerhouse performance. Bipasha Basu has portrayed the role of a unhappily married Radhika. Though the film is getting rave reviews, director Rituparno Ghosh did not trust Bipasha Basu, despite her being a bengali. So he asked another actress to dub dialogues for Bipasha Basu in the film. However with positive press reviews Rituparno Ghosh has had a rethink and now Bipasha Basu will dub a print of the film to make her eligible for National Awards for Best Actress

When asked Bipasha Basu said "Yes, I spoke to Ritu (Rituparno Ghosh) after the film's release. And I'm going to Kolkata in October to dub for the film. The Bengali media has been very kind. But my voice being dubbed has been noticed." Earlier its was reported that Bipasha Basu was miffed with Rituparno Ghosh, however it is reported that her misgivings were over once Rituparno Ghosh explained to her that she had a husky voice, compared to the sweet flow of regular Bengali girls
