
Shiney Rape Case Update: Judicial Custody Extended Till July 30
Bollywood star Shiney Ahuja whose has been incarcerated in the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai on charges of raping his maid, still can’t come out of the prison. The actors’ judicial custody has been extended for the third time. On Thursday a local court extended the judicial custody of the actor till July 30.
The actor's lawyer Shrikant Shivade had put his argument seeking bail for the actor, but the court gave weightage to the prosecution's demand of extending the judicial custody as the police was still probing the case. Even as the sessions court had earlier turned down Shiney Ahuja’s bail plea on the grounds that he might influence the independent witnesses.
It may be known that the actor has been in jail since May 14th after the maid accused him of raping her. Shiney Ahuja first refuted the charges, but later admitted of having sex with consent. The police however charged the actor under the IPC Section 376 for raping his 17-year-old maid on June 14 at his Oshiwara residence. The police also conducted DNA tests that confirmed that Shiney Ahuja did have sexual intercourse with the maid, which the actor claimed was consensual
